Community Arts Network[CAN] presents several inspiring examples that make an impact in different and creative ways through artistic work, especially working with young people and marginalized groups most affected by climate change. Among them is the DAH Theater project DANCING TREES, which is also included in the video Cultivating the Human/Nature Connection .
We don’t have to look far to see how urgent the global climate crisis is – the evidence is all around us, we feel its impact on our lives and on the natural world.
But despite the best efforts of climate campaigners, the traditional approach to mobilizing people just doesn’t seem to be getting the desired results. What is clear is that for a growing number of changemakers around the world, the missing element can be summed up in one word: art.
Art has the power to touch and move people in a way that information delivered in traditional ways cannot. When art is integrated into activism, the results are tremendous.
